Terminator: Dark Fate Premiere Canceled Due to Los Angeles Fires

Paramount Pictures and Skydance have canceled the red carpet premiere of Terminator: Dark Fate due to the active fires being battled in Los Angeles.
Paramount's official statement reads: “In light of the ongoing, active fires being battled in the area, Paramount Pictures and Skydance have canceled tonight’s Los Angeles premiere of Terminator: Dark Fate. We will be donating food intended for the after-party to the American Red Cross, which is serving those affected by the fires.”

Many wildifres have broken out in northern and southern California, causing evacuations and power outages statewide. Early Monday morning, a brush fire broke out near the Getty Center in Los Angeles and rapidly burned more than 500 acres, displacing residents of thousands of homes in Brentwood and other west side Los Angeles hillside communities.

Terminator is the first movie since T2: Judgment Day to reunite stars Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger with producer James Cameron. Serving as a sequel to Judgment Day, the Tim Miller-directed action movie picks up 30 years later and follows Hamilton's Sarah Connor as she tries to help the unsuspecting Dani, played by Natalia Reyes, and her protector from the future Grace, played by Mackenzie Davis, after Dani becomes the target of a new Terminator, the Rev-9, played by Agents of SHIELD's Gabriel Luna.

IGN's review of Terminator: Dark Fate praises it as the best Terminator movie since T2: Judgment Day, saying it “ultimately succeeds in serving as both a suitable closing chapter for the original two films and a possible gateway to exciting new chapters ahead.”

Starring Linda Hamilton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Natalia Reyes, Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna and Diego Boneta, Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters on October 23rd in the UK, October 31st in Australia and November 1st in the US.
