Donald Frank Cheadle (Kansas City, Missouri; November 29, 1964) is an American film and television actor and producer. Winner of the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries or TV Movie and twice winner of the Best Actors Guild Award. Oscar, Emmy and BAFTA Awards Candidate.1 Known for his film interventions as Boogie Nights (1997), Traffic (2000), Ocean's Twelve (2004), Hotel Rwanda (2004), Crash (2004), The Flight (2012).

He is known for playing Lieutenant Colonel James «Rhodey» Rhodes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies Iron Man 2 (2010), Iron Man 3 (2013), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016 ), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

Donald Frank Cheadle was born on November 29, 1964 in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. His father was a child psychologist and his mother was a teacher. He is the brother of Cindy Cheadle and Colin Cheadle. He moved numerous times during his childhood. He studied at the California Institute of Arts and graduated from the East High School in Denver, Colorado, United States. He writes and composes music, in addition to playing the saxophone. He currently lives with Bridgid Coulter, with whom he has two children, born in 1995 and 1997.
